I bought two different kinds of door contact switches, based on what is listed in the PET catalogue. Then when I pulled the broken switch out of my door jamb, it was of the 4-pole variety, which is not listed in the PET at all.

I have not been able to find this part anywhere online, not even a proper part number other than the "8842 K" that is molded into the plastic.

Does anyone sell these?

Or is there a good way of wiring a replacement switch that preserves the buzzer circuit? Or will I just have to disconnect that and wire with the later year 2-pole + ground switch?

This is the relevant section of the wiring diagram (1972), in case anyone is wondering:

Any help would be much appreciated!

Put a WTB in classified section. NLA everywhere. Never did find a VW cross reference for these.

Thanks. I found a pair on ebay. The lack of a part reference is really strange - it's clearly stamped as VW part, but I can't find it described anywhere and there seems to be no Porsche part number attached to it either, or it would be correctly listed in the PET.

Not easy to find as most parts houses have that part number shown with the 2 pole version but...

Here you go

https://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.com/ca...11-412&ct=2

If you have used ones though they are pretty easy to dissemble and not a complicated part or prone to breaking other than the internal spring rusting out.

It's too bad that they won't ship to the U.S. I was all set to buy a pair because my attempt to convert to 2 pole didn't work.
