That is pretty cool! How do you handle the shut off on reverse rotation?

Like OEM, the primary means of preventing reverse rotation contact is gravity and inertia. Between the 2 arms are magnets placed same polarity facing each other. This provides opposing force for roller contact and are offset to prevent any contact during reverse rotation. I wish I could publish some fancy calculation to determine the optimum magnet offset, but it was trial and error until I could get something that worked reliably. Not to hard with inexpensive rapid prototyping of a home 3D printer. I'm testing this on a '73 TB, so it's also nice to have the built-in backup return spring in the TPS. |
