well i got my 911 front suspension all installed and drilled rear hubs, but the wheels im using-i guess- are leaving me w/ some problems. I got a set of adapters and spacers from a friend of mine that WOULD work but im having troubles w/ them fitting. The front adapter/spacer is an inch and a half wide but the center is made to go onto the rear axel. It is a quality part from a 911 and is heavy dooty, but if i machine the center out to fit over the front hub center, will it be too weak? Does anyone have a spacer this wide for the front?

the rear spacers are just too wide, either i need longer studs-which i cant seem to find anywhere local, or i need smaller spacers. The spacing on the rear wheel isnt bad but could come out like 1/4 to 1/2" w/o a problem but these are 3/4" and just arent working. Im thinking 1/4" would work fine since my rotors are not on right now either. I need to get some five lug rotors or drill mine soon to check fitment....

You should have said you were going with spacers... I would have spec'd a different stud for sure. DO NOT TRY TO USE SPACERS WITH THOSE STUDS. You'll need more engagement. You "may" get by with a 7mm spacer but that's the tops I would feel comfortable with. You want 14mm of engagement, minimum.

Don't go off and buy "any" studs until you've figured out your spacer issue. Porsche uses a 14x45mm Verbus stud for a "stock application". You need to add your spacer depth to that otherwise you'll have problems with the lug nuts I sent you.

E.G. If you're thinking a 1/4" spacer (7mm) then you'll need to add 7mm to the stock Verbus 45mm. 52mm Verbus studs are what you would need (not 70mm, the nuts would bottom out about 3/4" away from the wheel). Verbus measures the threaded portion so many people confuse the 45mm studs with 50mm studs.

You need to PM me if you plan on restudding those hubs. You may want to send them here. I can get Verbus 52's for around $4.00 each. The hubs now fit in the new USPS Priority Mail Box. The first box they came out with was too skinny. The new box works. $7.70 each way and two day delivery.

Oh... the good news? You'll probably need new bearings again (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/blink.gif)
