Can you all help me? This car is currently at a auto body shop. I have a parts car waiting for me this weekend (road trip) in KY....I just want to know if there was ANY way to make this less ugly for a while. I miss this car!!!! Could I try to pull it out, or just bomb it (drain gas first) or what? I even bought some rain-x for my windshield (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif) looky at the electronic windshield washer system..... i did one that was almost as bad as that (didn't get into the turn signal tunnel tho...) that was the job that finally got me to go buy the hydraulic PortaPower... cut a 2x12, maybe a couple layers thick, and lay it up against the back trunk wall. the front parts will push back pretty easily. the hood may be toast but they are plentiful. you should be able to massage it "close" tho. i used "muscle car" pins to keep it closed since i never got around to fixing the latch "right" (and Murphy dictates that the latch will stick shut only when the fuel reserve light is on ...).
the lights can be manually raised and left there; pull the relay, and be thankful you do not have a cross-hood link rod like 924's. we'd all like to be driving perfect cars but few of us actually do... |
