 Need help with speedometer removal, cable doesn't want to release |

So I had no problem pulling the speedo out of the cluster, removed the lighting and spade connector, and unscrewed the retainer on the speedometer cable. But the cable doesn't want to come out of the speedometer housing, and I don't know how much is too much force. Is it ok to grip the brass collar sticking out of the cable housing and wriggle it loose, or does that stay in the speedometer? Also, I don't see where to disconnect the reset cable - where on the dash do I look for that?

I thought it was a fused or something else installed by someone else. |
