On the '74 2.0L, the turn signals are a bit wacky. I know that the same relay for the parking brake is used. Issue: The parking brake light, in the instrument cluster, is always flashing. Until recently, it only flashed with the parking brake on. Now, flashes all the time. I bought a new relay, thinking the one I was using wasn't correct for the car but no change. So why is the turn signal relay, flashing the parking brake warning light? Also, the blinkers work but the green light in the instrument cluster doesn't flash.
Something simple? Thanks for any input... |

QUOTE About the tach indicator, I assume you have the single L/R indicator as normal in the '74 model year. Did the old relay flash the indicator? Do you have incandescent bulbs for turnsignals or LEDs? Sorry for late reply. I don't get notifications. Spoke maybe on to something. I had carbs installed recently and the shop that did it was tracing a fuel leak, under the cover for the MC area. Maybe something got bumped/pulled. I also put new front pads on. That would be a good place to start. Yes, I do have the single L/R indicator with incandescent bulbs. And both old and new relays flash the ebrake indicator. The L/R light does not flash with anything. 4 ways work, ebrake light flashed, all 4 corners of the car flash but no green light. Bulb appears to be good. I'll try the MC reset button. I did this before on one of our cars. Probably in a few days. It's 100+ in our area, Thanks for the comments and info. Updates, when it cools off. |
