I bought my project car several years back - came with its original 1.7L that had been freshly rebuilt but not installed yet. I noticed this thermostat that was on it when I got it and basically ignored it til now.. it looks a little different than the originals- anyone know the specifics on it?

Seen it on the samba, aftermarket, supposed to work just like the stock unit.
