Upon dissembling my 2.2 FAT engine to see why #1 cylinder had 0 compression, I discovered the fan had 13 broken fan blades. Wondering if the fans are any different between years or displacement. Been searching around the internet and see that Auto Atlanta sells used ones that have 1 or 2 broken blades. Rather have a nice balanced fan.
Could use some help figuring if one size fits all or there are specific fans for different years and models. Thanks, Tony |

Hi Tony,
Put a "Wanted to Buy" ad here at 914world.com for a good fan. You do not want one with any damaged fan blades. It will cause imbalance which is not good for the motor and the fan can actually explode if you hit too high RPMs. You really only need to make sure there's a well visible mark at TDC on the fan. Then use a dial back timing light to set your timing. Makes timing less confusing for you or subsequent mechanics that work on that monster. Like Bruce says, be sure you have the correct length fan bolts. Too long bolts on an early fan will damage things. |

Thanks guys.
From what I’m seeing on eBay, $75.00 won’t get you there. I’ve got a couple of local leads to pursue before subjecting myself to the scammers, out there, that troll the WTB posts on all the automotive boards.
