Looking for input.

Found rust inside my gas tank and curious what people use to clean and seal.

I purchased evaporust and am going to use that after a good washout. What have you used that worked well?

Also, aside from POR 15 fuel tank sealer what products have you used that you thought worked well or found not to?

Lastly, sealer recommendation, rust removal tactics and quantity of sealant needed to coat a 914 tank.

Thank you very much for any advice/input.

Brett

I just cleaned a tank and used 5 gallons of evaporust. Let it sit of a day on each side, top, bottomand each end. Used a sending tank ring and rubber sheet to block that hole. Cut out the ring from an extra filler neck and did the same there. Put gasket msterial inside the gas tank nipple nuts to seal them. Test with water first for leaks.
I only used 5 gallons as it filled better and in used a lot of evaoprust.
While Dansk tanks are cheap they fit like crap. A friend ordered ten and sent 7 back.
No sealant.

Another good part is you can re-use the evaporust again and again. Save the container and pour the leftover back in (I'll filter like I do when I drain fuel, with old coffee filters)

I bought a dansk tank, but plan to try the evaporust route first just to see if it works.
