I need to replace the hose going to the remote oil pressure switch and sender. Tight to get into with any real leverage or tool below the tin on the engine. What works to get that out? I thought about cutting the hose and using a socket for the old one, but I need to replace it and put a new one in too.

I got half way there so far. I was having trouble and wanted a small win so yes I cut the hose and tried a deep socket. Still didn't work. Turns out they threw me a curve, the upper and lower end hose connections were a different size. I did have some cheap bent furniture wrenches that might have worked if I knew the size difference issue. Eventually got it out.
I now think they used the wrong connection on the sender end, the threads are mismatched and won't seal. So I am glad I did this, only a matter of time for a bigger issue without the garage to help. I put the sensor in without an extension for now. I am waiting for parts to see what the new stuff uses and I'll go through this again. @johnlush , your machining skills are WAY better than mine! I did have one of these, but in the wrong size. I'll see what I can find for the return leg of the journey. https://www.ebay.com/itm/323981459806 |
