Starting axle/cv overhaul, only 2 CVs came off the shaft, other 2 not budging. CV's feel crappy anyway, so thought of getting complete new shafts... Can't seem to fine many places selling, if the do, they're 300-600??? What gives, why so scarce And those of you who have bought recently...from where? Thanks |

It is unlikely your axle shafts are the problem. So, if they're OK, just replace the CV joints.
Here is one location to get new ones: https://pmbperformance.com/products/porsche...ro-cv-joint-kit This could set you up for another 50 years. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Where did we recently get some axles? Rock Auto. If you've converted your 914 to 5 lug with Euro hubs and other parts, it turns out that you can use new 2006 Pontiac GTO axles (part# GSP NCV10024). On closeout they went for $30 to $60. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) What makes the Euro (do you mean URO?) hubs different from the stock parts that would now allow the use Pontiac components? Wouldn't they also work on stock setup? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |
