Be careful. Don’t pull your scissors lift over or bend it.
Hydraulics capable of developing lots of force. Use it wisely. Don’t be afraid to use the fire wrench to soften the metal in places to lessen the pull force needed. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Thank you, this is uncharted ground for me, hoping 50+ years of experience and a backyard engineering degree will get me through. I also have a couple willing sets of eyes as backup. The porta power is 4 ton, scissors rig is quite stout, I will be adding a section of 3" x4" tubing for some pulling action. and yes, per "The key to Metal Bumping" the torch will be nearby. A set of home made pinch weld clamps is on my radar to secure the chassis Overall it's got good bones as a starting chassis and I hate to recycle it Certainly others have been down this road, please chime in |
