There is a lot in this text that begs more info:

"the fuel sensor or pressure regulator was bad so I had that rebuilt....the car starts but it seams like its running on one cylinder and will not idle at all"

-914s do not have a fuel sensor, what is this?
-What is the 'pressure regulator'? Are you referring to the manifold pressure sensor (MPS?) or the fuel pressure regulator? The fuel pressure regulator is doubtful to cause a problem.

The MPS on the otherhand...is a critical sensor and must be tuned correctly to your engine if it was just rebuilt. Please clarify & elaborate.

Have you confirmed that the three fuel injection ground wires in the fuel injection harness (3 pairs of two wires each) at the top rear of the engine case are connected to the ground lug?

Any visibly broken wires in your fuel injection harness?
