Picked up a 76 out of texas that had been converted to single carb that just doesn't run very well. I decided to convert back to original FI, essentially everything is gone and I am working on understanding the system. I guess my first question is where does the fuel pump draw power from? there is a single black wire underneath the fuel tank that has no power to it but all the relays have been removed and Im waiting on those from pelican

Hello @914incali
I also have a 76 914 I am trying to get through a smog test and I want to apologize for hi-jacking your post . I had many of the same questions as you had . I am getting closer to getting my 76 D-Jet FI smogged in California . If I can provide any help please let me know .I might be able to answer some questions or provide a picture but I am not as knowledgeable as many of the helpful folks on this site . My car was never sold in California so I should have a pretty good chance of getting it smogged ,if your car was first sold in California as others have mentioned it is difficult to pass California smog without all the equipment it was originally sold with. I didn't realize this when I purchased my car but thankfully it was not sold here but sold in Michigan and then moved to California in the 80's. Ron |
