I would like some advice as to the best accelerator cable mount and location for a 74 type 4 i am working on. i've only owned fi so any help will help. Also is there a certain cable shroud part that holds the cable shroud to the mounting bar allowing little to no resistance for the cable to move freely. Thanks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sawzall-smiley.gif)

I have run this already for the initial leak test and will not start this in my garage untill i feel it is safe and everything has been gone through. I had help tuning the carbs. The air filters are on now as the hex bar has been moved to the rear of the carbs. I will double spring each carb to shut the butterflys. I was wondering do you need to plug the return fuel line at the firewall? what is the normal process for the return fuel line when modifying to dual carbs? and do you add the fpr before or after the fuel filter? i see you are in the bay area..i am in the east bay alamo area. If you're going to plug it, maybe at the fuel tank. If you plug it at the point the hardline (gonna assume the plastic lines are long gone) exits the tunnel by the shift rod area, you have fuel sitting in the line that goes throughthe interior of the car. But, the fuel feed line will be right next to it with fuel, so probably not really an issue. Very good you have the fuel pump cutoff switch installed. However, why not use the return line to bleed off fuel pressure? (There are several ways to plumb for dual carbs. How about installing the FPR after the filter and before/after carbs) with the excess pressure returning the fuel to the tank via the return line? |
