I have a MaxJax lift in my hobby shop. When I had it installed (I went with pro installers), I had them put anchors in for two different widths. I've only ever used the narrow width, with my very narrow MG TD, but just recently I bought a very nice 1973 914 2.0 from a Porsche mechanic in Virginia. Today, I installed the post in the wide position, and it's just right for the 914! This photo is of the car in the highest lift position.
 I used the standard pads without the lift extensions, and added an ordinary hockey puck at each location to make sure the lift arms didn't touch the side skirts. I carefully aligned the pads and pucks under the four lift points - the round dimples with a hole in the center. Here are photos of front and rear points.   I measured the distance between the front mounting bolt holes on the two posts, in case someone else is installing a MaxJax for 914 use. It was just shy of 119 inches in my setup. Here's a photo of that also, so you can see where I was measuring from.  |
