Anyone tried these in their 914? If so,

How did it work out?
Brand/model Recommendations?
Where to mount rear camera?

What to avoid?

Backup cameras are great in the 914 if you ever park your car in a crowded shopping center. The 914 is so much smaller than the hulking SUVs that are inevitably all around you that you just about can't see if it's safe to back out without one. I have one on my car and it works great for that. The display, however, is another matter. I looked at the rear view mirrors that switch to the backup camera view when you engage reverse, and they are far too dim to compete with the bright ambient light coming in thru the windshield in many cases. What is much better and tolerable if you just use the camera in situations like I described is a monitor down below dash level where it's dark enough to see it clearly and far enough from your normal field of view when driving as to not be distracting.
