Lots of mistakes were made, though it was a learning experience and hopefully made it more entertaining for you guys. Thank you 914World'ers for helping me learn and find solutions, as I said - Keep on tinkering

I can’t believe that after all these years people are still struggling to install their air boxes. It is so much easier if you loosen up the two metal struts that support the cowling area by unbolting them from the body. The cowl piece is very flexible and all you have to do to put the air box back in is pull up on the cowling gently while inserting the air bow.
