Thinking of converting to electric windows. Any one have a kit or product you'd recommend?

I just don't see the point in adding electric windows to a 914. The interior is small enough I can lean over and roll up the right hand window. It adds weight and it is something else that can break and leave you with a window down in a raging thunderstorm.

But hey, it's your car. So do what you want.

Says the guy with a Boxster trans, flat fan, ITB’s, etc.
it would make it easier in an early car with fixed belts and early window mech.
Not one of the worst mods I can imagine- think AA’s 9014 kit…

Ouch.. that hurts!

And everything on that car was done for performance....... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) But I still stand by the "something else that can break and leave you with a window down in a raging thunderstorm."

I would agree with you about the fixed belts and early window regulators. Our factory six has them. You really can't lean over and roll up the right hand window.

And since you will use the drivers window often, the little plastic button that basically connects the mechanism to the glass hardware is always on borrowed time. You have to keep the mechanism clean and lubed because any torque on the hardware’s it out quickly. Just like the door handles and lid pulls.
