Can some one tell me what the over all length (inches) of the forward shift rod for a 73 and later 914 is suppose to be ? I have a forward shift rod that measures 28 1/4 inches total. it is straight and is splined on one end and smooth on the other end. I t doesn't look anything like my 71 front shifter rod. Is it the right length for a side shifter front rod? |

The diameter of the late rod is smaller. Does it fit the firewall bushing? If so it is correct. If it is too large it may be an early rod. |
