‘73 car
How does this rear tow hook bracket assembly come apart?

The threaded tube is welded to the support bracket.
The support bracket is welded to the tail panel.

The threaded tube extends thru the tail panel into another bracket on the inside of the tail panel.
Are they attached? How are they attached?
Is the tube part of the inside bracket, or is it part of the outside bracket?

Your feedback is very helpful, All. Those pictures are perfect, Bruce.

A proper restoration? Not sure about that but trying to make a solid tub.

This corner has collision damage. I’m trying to figure out if I’m able to save the left side of this tail panel. It is bent out of shape in several directions. In addition the fender, inner fender, and trunk floor pan are bad. Everything here will need work. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sawzall-smiley.gif)

The tow hook is in the way of banging the tail panel back into some semblance of the proper shape so that’s where I decided to start.

Thanks again for the pictures and feedback!
