Since my project has it's battery shelf moved to the rear trunk, I'd been planning to create a bracket and suspend the stock ECU from the original ground lug where the neg. battery cable used to attach (I'm using another location for the battery ground now). But to do so, is going to take a custom bracket of some kind, and even then it's a bit awkwardly placed, and I may even need to drill an additional hole for a solidly mounted bracket.

So, I got to thinking - why not just move the ECU to the rear trunk?

Well, maybe heat? I've seen many CD boxes in the trunk but then they usually have a heat-sink style case. Then I also have an actual Bosch D-jet ECU from my '71 P1800 that has a heat-sink "edge" section. Hmm.. but then doesn't the engine compartment get much hotter than the trunk would? Also.. don't I recall these ECU's being put in the trunk to make room for air conditioning lines, by some? (I may need room for that too at some point)

What say's the group? Thoughts, experiences, opinions ..conjectures?
