Hi all. I’m shipping my case to LN Engineering and wondered what you all think should be the proper way. Here’s my crate- I was thinking of adding an additional board as a base, then mounting the halves directly to the base via the bell housing flange, bolts, washers, etc. From here, I can add foam if needed but I think it could ship as is- the box is a well engineered tank.

What do you think?
Should I connect the halves?
Would strapping it down be better?
Is all of this overkill? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Any advice welcome, thanks in advance- total noob here.

FYI- I still have hopes for removing that pesky stud, but LN said they could deal with it and there’s room in the crate.

My way isn’t the only way but with sales and customer cases to the machine shop, I’ve probably shipped about 30+ cases. The shipping companies can damage anything and insurance doesn’t always cover it. They will often say the product wasn’t packed securely- even when packed by fedex’s own shipping dept. Cardboard will help cushion the blow if it’s dropped. It’s worse in the winter because the plastic is brittle. So do what you think best. 2 labels because I lost a trans when the seller only put one label on the box. I even drop a third label in the crate with the hope that I’ll never loose another one.
