Doug is showing off one of the cars on his Cars n Bids website. It's a '71 Pantera but not a good one. The rear wheels are too small and it has aftermarket cheap sideview mirrors. To top it off, when he got to the interior I thought those seats looked familiar, they're 914 seats. Very strange.

Reminds me of my Pantera short story. Had a 73 white Pantera in '73 ,low mileage , that I was certain I was going to wreck after being caught cruising up to Frisco @160mph, police let me go after failing to produce my pilot's license. Put up for sale and quickly found buyer that wanted to swap for a very low mileage , white 73 914 plus a 73 , with same type 4 vw engine, low mileage orange Westfailia Bus plus $1000. The nite of the exchange the buyer totaled the Pantera. I found the combination of the 2 vehicles more pleasurable than than trying to kill myself in that Italian hot rod

Marks Pantera a very impressive car. Brand new very white just like the almost new 73 2.0 with the tasteful pinstriping. That 73 started my love for 914s Marks girlfriend Sally had a 73 2.0 in Marathion blue. The Westfella Camper was Orange / plaid interior. Mark loaned it to me so I had a vehicle to cover me while I was waiting for my Westfella to be delivered back from Europe after my summer of driving it there. Mine was the same but no pop top.
Glad that I still have these memories. The early 70s where a great time.
