It's been many years, progress has been slow and i don't really have the money to finish the car right now.

It's a tough spot, lots of time and money have gone into it, but most of it to get back to square one. You find yourself having a strange conversation when you sell a car like this, where a buyer looks at it and starts saying all the things the car will need, and you respond with "you should have seen it before". Basically fixing major rust or structural metal repairs doesn't math when selling the car. It's like you don't get points for wearing pants to work, it's just expected. Same with basic solid metal, people just expect it and have no idea the time, effort, and money it has taken to get it where it is. It's not flashy like building an expensive engine or a nice paint job, those people will see the value of the dollars you put in, metal work, not so much.
My advice would be, if you're not in a hurry, is put what you think is a pretty high price on it and wait. There is a guy out there with either a 6 clone, or already has an engine waiting for a car, this would be a perfect car for him. He's out there, it just might take awhile to find him. |
