Thinking of finally replacing my original Appearance Group console. Mostly ok but for past 30+ years the right side top has had ugly black electrical tape to cover the split vinyl. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) Haven’t been able to find a concours grade right side piece. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hissyfit.gif)
Am tending toward the AA unit but interested in folks’ thoughts and experiences. PM if that’s more comfortable. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

I would try to find an original side. They are still around. Every picture of replicas I have seen have the top seams pointy instead of flat like the original.
BTW, liking how you are hiding the Rennshift (?) tower. Please provide more pictures. I was potentially thinking of doing something like that and remove the lip on the top ring where the CV join boot latches on. Good luck with your search! |

Got some "nice" leatherette on eBay, made a template for a tower base, shaved the ring thingie under the boot, shaved the bottom panel opening to fit the larger tower diameter, and stitched the original boot to the riser (that was the hardest part). JWest shifter, but same for Rennshift I'd imagine. Here are pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
