The flappers Should be closed when the red lever on heater controls is all the way to drive side....

I had the air box out awhile ago and when I got ready to reinstall I (thought) that I set the rod underneath so that they closed and opened on both side at the same time.

HA HA on me.

One side closes and the other opens. HUMMMM no wonder I get blasted by heat no matter when the dang slider is.

How to I adjust this with the cable? or that damn rod?

that is a pic I grabbed from the interweb, Mine is in the car.

Help Please

feeling not so Hndyhrr right now.

Thanks

Robert is correct.

The “heat” lever on the dash only directs the hot air up or down. Turn the heat off with the red lever between the seats. Red lever down is off. Hot air is blown out the flapper valves below the engine compartment.

The fresh air works exactly the same way. The Fan lever first opens the air flap on top of the air box letting air in through the grill under the windshield. The second lever directs the fresh air up or down (or mix).

All 3 dash levers fully left and the heat lever between the seats down closes the air box completely.

This assumes of course, all cables are connected to the levers and flapper boxes are there and functioning. Flapper boxes are prone to rust and can freeze open or closed.
