I converted a 4 to 6 in a 71. I also have a short shifter and the necessary spacer installed. The shift rod in the tunnel is scraping a gusset and causing a loud squeaking when put in reverse or 1st and slightly less squeak sound going into 4th and 5th. I have a video taken in the tunnel showing how it's interfering with the shift rod. Has anyone else had this issue and have a solution other than drilling a hole with a hole saw on the top of the tunnel and grinding some of the gusset for clearance? Thanks

Most common problem is a too long seatbelt bolt that interferes with the rod.
