914-6, 1970 - all stock

All,

I just rebuilt the distro in this car, one of the videos I watched the tech used a Sun distro tester.

The testing procedure was to take advance and I believe dwell measurements through the typical RPM range -in both directions - to measure the springs/weights, etc....

This process is new to me, I have always set the dwell and then timing, how important is this dynamic process?
