I’m new to all of this. Has anyone modified the wiring for their running light? I would like to keep my running lights on but not have the headlight raised? Then when I pull the light switch all the way out. The lights will pop up and come on. I have the lights changed over to LEDs everything is working. Just think this would be a nice modification. Can anyone help me.

Hi Mark,
Stock, the way your headlight switch should work, at least on a '71, is pull it to the first detent and just the running lights or as I refer to them, "parking lights", come on and you should get a green light in your speedo when they are on. Pull the switch to the next detent (all the way out) and now you should have headlights too. I have my fogs (now LED thanks to Spokes) wired so I can run them as daytime running lights as a standalone function. My typical driving mode is with parking lights and daytime running lights on. I want people to see the car before they hit it. :beer2
