My current car has a stock 1.8. I really want to step up to an Type 4 engine that gives me around 120 to 150 hp. What are some cost effective options for me? I dont mind converting to carbs. Who would you reccomend in SF Bay Area for engine work?
Are there any new product developments etc that I should be considering? |

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/agree.gif) it's worth checking out jakes site. he's got all the stuff you'll need. there's nothing wrong using the 1.8 case (they're all the same pretty much) but you will need new internals. also, the 1.8 heads are not the best place to start. so, you might be better off selling your 1.8 and get a new engine. probably less hassle. but, like said here, to get in the 150+ HP range, you'll need to fork out some serious $$$$ (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) Andy |
