Curious as to what you all might be doing for gearing on the autox course.
I have a 2056 with what I imagine is a stock gearbox. We autox at the Tire Rack so the course is not exceptionally big or long , but I find myself needing 3rd gear but it usually isn't enough time to warrant makin g the shift due to needing to go back down to 2nd. However it feels like I would be running at the redline in 2nd for too long as well. Is it common to experience this? Is there a longer second gear available? |

Yep, standard practice for a 914. You can put in a lower third gear so you're into the power curve better when you shift and able to use third through some of the slower events that you would need to downshift to second if you had a stock third gear.
