An insert for 275? What and why? Is it just rarity? Some strange one off design that no other car uses?

we had the original boges duplicated by a suspension firm in England. The give the exact factory ride and are not harsh like the bilstein/koni shocks. Easy straight forward installation, but we used a generic gland nut, so when tight shows some extra threads
