An insert for 275? What and why? Is it just rarity? Some strange one off design that no other car uses?

@dr914 @autoatlanta.com
I saw the post on the FB Porsche 914 group and commented. When this thread popped up here, I revisited the FB post. George said "Carlos that was really really STUPID to say". He did not reply to my post. He did not reference full name. I didn't get a notification. I replied to his comment so he would get a notification.

"George Hussey Tell me exactly what I said that was "really, really stupid". I said they were repops. Your website states they are repops. I said they were poorly made. I inferred that because the gland nut could not be fully seated to the strut housing. Your website states that the gland nut does not fully engage. I said they were cheap. From your website: Boge repops are about $100. Koni Sports are $289. Bilstein $260. Objectively they are cheap.

I do have a question for you. If I used you your boge repop with an OEM gland nut, Would I be able to fully seat the gland nut?"

I'm going to paraphrase Johnnie Cochrane. "if it doesn't fit, you must return it".
