I guess file this under general garage skill but Porsche-related.
67 911 and I canNOT get this split nut off to remove/rekey the glovebox lock.

Pic stolen from the internet as it best shows the nut in question.

I just can't find anything that will get enough "bite"

Asking here rather than other 911-centric boards since we're a bit more "hands-on"...

The snap ring does not facilitate removing the nut and lock tab. It just holds the lock cylinder in place. I've removed literally hundreds of them with just a straight screwdriver.

Long nosed pliers usual will fit into the opposite slots to remove or install. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)
