I have been using K&N 2004 oil filters on my 914. I have an external oil cooler with a Mocal sandwich adapter between the oil filter support and the oil filter. I purchased a Mahle OC28 oil filter. When I tried to install the filter, it was tight against the engine bar. The Mocal filter measured 96mm and the K&N measured 93mm. $10 mistake. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif)

I'm getting 40 lbs. with oil temp around 200° at 3400 rpm. Cold oil pressure at start up (70°) is 80 lbs.

Yes ,but what's your hot idle pressure ? often more important IMO.
OC 47 Mahle will work ,76mm diameter but longer so capacity is the same ,always used German parts on a German engine but that's just me.
Cheers.
