I replaced my MC with a new 19mm version 2 years ago and the damn thing is leaking fluid. I'll sell the car before I go through the trauma of trying to replace the evil thing again. I checked 914Rubber site to see if they still carried their version with the "easy" installation mods and they don't show it (or even the regular one). Anyone know if this has gone the way of the dodo?

@Chris914n6 if you want to do the job twice get a URO, otherwise use an ATE. Spoken from experience with a URO install.

@Chris914n6 if you want to do the job twice get a URO, otherwise use an ATE. Spoken from experience with a URO install. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) I have been told that the 914Rubber MC is made by URO. Not sure if that is truly the case, so take it as an unsubstantiated rumor. On the other hand that is not an uncommon practice and unsubstantiated rumors tend to be taken as fact nowadays (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) . Mark can address that if he wishes. I don't want to be maligning anyone. A porsche mechanic I know fairly well says that URO stands for U Regret Ordering (IMG:style_emoticons/default/evilgrin.gif) . On the other hand I have several URO parts on my car and they seem just fine. However given the choice between URO and ATE I don't think the price difference should be the deciding factor. I don't make decisions based on cost when it comes to my brakes. Quality trumps everything. Being frugal is OK, but being cheap is not. |
