I found a large stash or 914 parts. The owner of said 914 parts is primarily into 911's and 356's and needs room in his warehouse. He wants to get rid of everything 914 related but I think his price for the entire lot is overly optimistic, especially since the 914 stuff is intertwined with all his other P Car stuff and the days/weeks worth of my time to sort through it all, move it store it, etc.
Most of the stuff is "OK". For example: Qty. 20 - 1.7 or 1.8 heads (a couple were rebuilt) 2 or 3 tail shifter trans 2 pairs of late doors (appear to be fairly rust free) 2 late engine lids 2 or 3 Targa tops 2 or 3 used rear bumper pre 75-76, 1 has louvers punched in the license plate area 1 dash that was somehow recovered in a veined vinyl (not a bad job but is pulling away on the bottom of the pod 3 or 4 1.8 air box tops and flappers 1 used Bursch? muffler 2 pairs of 914 seats with non stock velour inserts (one with matching reddish "radwood-ish" door panels 1 stock front valence 1 or 2 stock rear valence 1 W engine block, possibly NOS but he might keep Bunch or used signal and side marker lenses, 1 US rear lens Stack of repro door jamb metal, maybe 6 2 fair under dash pads Stack of used fair to good door panels Bunch of door locks, latches, plates Ton of "smalls" etc. etc. etc. The seller was open to taking payments. I'm thinking more like "buy as you go". I'm open to ideas, partners, group buys, etc. |

Lots of the usual stuff in the usual condition. Many of us probably have at least one of those items collecting dust in the garage somewhere.
IMO, if you’re looking to make enough money reselling it all to make it worth your time to haul it away, he’s going have to give it you to for a very low price or for free. What’s your time and effort worth? |

What’s your time and effort worth? Pretty much what I was thinking offer wise for the lot. I could see days / weeks sorting through all this 914 stuff. Even at $5/hr. that is a fairly hefty investment over and above the value of the parts AND I need to clear out space to put them in. He did give me a rear trunk push lock assembly for free that I needed. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I'm likely going to try cherry picking the stuff I really need and try to assist him in selling some of the other stuff. I don't mind hanging out at his shop as he has some cool rides and projects like a Toyota Mega Cruiser (H1 look alike) and a 60 Series Land Cruiser he's restoring for customers, a 356 outlaw, a full race widebody 400 HP VW Rabbit, an 911 RSR tribute, among others. |
