Today marks the official beginning of my 1974 Porsche 914-4 restoration project.
      I'm hoping to have the car on the road before its 50 anniversary. |

So much progress!!!!
1. Wiper motor installed and tested. 2. Fresh air box installed and tested. 3. Tested the wires to the windshield washer pump. 4. Tested the wires to the fuel pump. .....a. Had to jumper the relay board since I'm using carburetors. 5. Heater fan switch and motor installed and tested. 6. Parking brake switch and idiot light installed and tested. 7. Center console gauges: .....a. Clock installed and tested. .....b. Voltage gauge installed and tested. .....c. Oil pressure gauge installed and tested. 8. Oil pressure idiot light. The only thing left, related to the electricals, is the fuel sender, the fuel gauge and the low fuel idiot light. The hardest part was installing the fresh air box with the oversized 914Rubber seal. Thank you to Ian Karr for making the YouTube video. I used the rubber band trick but didn't take my hood off. I ended up wedging a bunch of sheets of wood under fan housing and using a spreader to push the box towards the back.  George |
