My '75 1.8 has developed a vibration when in 5th gear. All other forward gears and reverse work just fine. Am I looking at tearing the trans apart or maybe a CV joint?
Thanks.

George

Any ideas, folks? I'm really baffled about this and don't want to tear out the trans unless I have to.

Sounds like a good time to paint your drive axles and inspect and lube your CV's. If you find a bad one problem solved, if not you know where you need to look next and the axles are already out of the way. I hope it is a bad CV.
