Was the ignition switch wired such that the warning buzzer would sound if the key was left in the ignition switch. The 911 ignition switches do for sure, how about a 914 ?

Ok so here’s the thread going over how the later interlock relay works - including the buzzer.
Lots of info here including schematic. This post is largely focused on how the interlock relay works but there is info here that pertains to your desire to get the buzzer working. The buzzer is independent of the stater interlock relay - so if you’ve already bypassed the two large gauge yellow stater solenoid wires - the buzzer will still work. The buzzer is inside the interlock relay (the rectangular one) shown in this thread. http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...374489&st=0 Skip to post #14 which has relevant info on how the buzzer is fed: Short version: 1). 12v feeds through the ignition switch via pin “S” on the ignition - red pin 30 on stater switch 2) That 12v feed goes to pin 85 on the interlock relay under the passenger seat via brown / gray 3). The ground path is on pin 86 of the interlock relay The ground path comes through the door switches — brown / white. 4). When the doors are closed the door swirches are open. The buzzer is also activated depending on the status of the seat belt switches and the seat cushion switches. So - if your seatbelt interlock relay and associated wiring is heavily molested there may be other work required to get the system operating. The easiest first check is key in ignition - door open - regardless of seat belt and seat cushion switches, this should trigger the buzzer. Writing this up quickly - if I’m not being clear I apologize - will try to answer questions in a timely way to help clarify as I work around some other home front chaos this week. ![]() |
