I got my Kardex report on the Creamsicle. This report has more information than the COA from Porsche. COA from Porsche on another Creamsicle. Lots of dealer stuff not listed.

@davep @JeffBowlsby

prompted by mr. b's question about specific codes for USA Calif emissions i went back and looked at my files where i had put the California Clean Air Resources Board emissions certification. as posted earlier there is no difference in the engines USA wide and california for the 2.0s.

but.....i took a look at something closely i had not really looked at before which is the documents porsche submitted for the 911 and 914/6 in 1973 which i had downloaded at the time i got the 914/4 and VW stuff a few years ago.

there is a very surprising bit of info i had not noticed before.
the 911 and 914/6 material is submitted and filed separately on the CARB archives and was not submitted by VW of North America. Porsche AG germany directly submitted for those models.

.....and we are talking about the 73 model year. when the 914/6 was discontinued.
take a look.

porsche submit for approval a 914/6 model with the 2.4 L MFI engine as fitted to all the 911ss for that model year. documentation is dated sept 72
its not a continuance of the 70-72 914/6 which had a 2 L carb engine.
at the same time VW of NA submitted CARB certification for the 914/4 (914-1.7) and the 914S (914-2.0) which covered the discontinuance of the 914/6 2L and its replacement by the 914/4 2.0.

is this approval for the 916? which they cancelled shortly afterward or right about then.

stuff you find! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
