1970 914-6, all original
All Teeners Yea I get it, we teeners are special - very special. And, considering this little fact so are the prices of the most benign little part. The webbing for the oil tank hoses on my 914-6 are a bit frayed and I went to source some and - YOW!! If anyone has a reasonable source or is hording hose, let me know, spending 600+ on oil hoses......well, just seems a bit TOO SPECIAL. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Read the quotes at the various sites carefully, they lull you in with 58.00 and then when you get ready to order the price is PER FOOT! Little bit of confusion here. Those are 'breather lines', not 'oil lines'.
There is little/no pressure in them. Not really sure why they are cloth braided on the outside, doesn't need the strength. Pretty much any kind of oil resistant hose will work, although I understand the desire for originality. Keep looking, yea $50+ per foot is ludicrous unless you are going for concours. Your old ones don't look that bad |
