Friday night I took an unexpected ride in an ambulance. I was having severe chest pains and 3 nitro pills didn't help, so 911 was called.
A stent was installed on Tuesday and I feel much better. This is stent #3. Two in my heart and one in my carotid artery.I should be fully recovered in a week or two. Luckily, I did not have a heart attack. Only angina pains. If you have any chest pains, I urge you to call 911 immediately. Time is truly of the essence. Don't be the tough, stubborn guy. Make the call. My brother and I are the oldest men in the Curtis family back 19 generations. My dad had a massive coronary failure at 56. Luckily for me, mom is 100 and comes from a long line of centenarians. |

Glad you pulled through without more severe consequences. Good warning to all. I remember years ago my mom was complaining of swollen ankles. She told my sister who was a nurse she would go to a doctor the next day. My sister insisted she get to an emergency room ASAP as she recognized the symptom as congestive heart failure. Your advise of dont be the tough guy should be taken seriously. WOW glad you got there in time and it didnt close up on you and cause any damage!! I fully concur with your recommendation and Bruce's that you don't take a chance dont wait, I almost waited too long and barely walked thru the door before collapsing and being resuscitated by the way i had angina symptoms that felt like indigestion for 4-5 hours before i went in, and should have been there sooner i could have prevented the full out heart attack i ended up having! I strongly suggest getting the Cardiac CT as one screening tool, you could be asymptomatic and have severe restrictions. Glad you are doing well !! |

This was a quadruple bypass artery from my leg in 2005(99% blocked}. I had a heart attack on 1980 that did some damage, and a stent in my widow maker last September. It was also 99% blocked. Another of my bypassed arteries is completely blocked, but a secondary artery has now formed so it's clean. |
