Based upon the pic of your car, this solution probably won't be for you, but it's inexpensive, reliable, and the parts to make it are readily available at Home Depot/Amazon. If you don't mind drilling a small hole in the trunk and a hole through the stock latch, you can attach a short piece of galvanized wire to the latch and drop it through. When you want to release the trunk, you just reach under the valence & pull down. I just tucked the excess into the bottom of the valence and nobody was any the wiser. I put the roller/caster on it just to make the whole thing pull easier and make the angle better.
You can make it purtier, but I knew I was taking mine back off to paint the trunk, so I had black tape on it when I took the pic. Obviously if you're looking for an option where you can release it from the interior or engine bay, this won't be the ticket for you. ![]() ![]() |
