I had to re-tap and replace one of the bolts at the front of my right a-arm today. The bolt I removed is merely marked 8.8 ML. Just curious if that is the original and proper bolt to be used there. I replaced it with a 10mm 1.5 pitch 8.8 strength 40mm length bolt- OK , I guess? I am confused by the markings on the original bolt.

Group 4 Front Axle. there is a table with descriptions. assuming bolt you question is Control Arm Forward Bearing to Body. Bolt M10 x 30 Grade 8G Torque 4.7 Mkp / 34 ftlbs |
