Can the TRIPmeter cable still run through the reset procedure - in order of 0000 to 1111 to 2222 to (and so on), if the toothed gear for the ODOmeter has come loose?
This is the situation I currently have. Speedometer works, Odometer does not, trip is also not counting - but trip cable turns the 4 digit gears thru the range. I'm trying to figure out if it's just a cable attachment issue before pulling the gauge and breaking it all apart AGAIN. |

.. Not once have I found a loose speedometer drive gear which is not firmly attached to its axle shaft. Yea I got mine open today and the gear was not loose.. the screw-like "worm gear" (that gets turned by the cable), was just kind of stuck. I was able to clean it a bit, lubricate it and work it back and forth to loosen it up. All good now. |
