My 73 has the original steering wheel. Looking at a few threads, I gather 360mm is stock. Thing is I am 6'2". Have no problem fitting in the 914 itself, but the steering wheel is awkward at best. Can another member who is similarly tall post a photo of another smaller wheel as they sit in the drivers seat? Thinking a 350mm may solve my problems? Though looking at other photos maybe obscure the gauges a little. Still better then having my knees on the sides of it!

@GregAmy what size space did you use (.5", 1", 2", etc.)?
Also, can you share a pic of the steering column from the side so I can see how you have it stacked? |

what size space did you use (.5", 1", 2", etc.)? 3-1/2" spacer, plus the 16mm JWest eccentric. Same in the race car, even though in that I sit in a Butler aluminum seat mounted directly to the floor. I like my wheels close (and large) for leverage, I do not like the straight-arms stance. I can maybe get a photo tomorrow. |
