I just found time to check the oil in the car (914/6 conversion 2.4 spec).

After bringing it to temp and ensuring the car was on a level area, I pulled the dip stick several times, cleaning after each pull, the oil appears to be significantly higher than necessary, at least 1" past MAX.
The car was running at the time of the check.

1. Should I check with the car not running as well?
2. Time to remove and refill to the proper level?

Thanks all.....
Trying to figure out the specifics of the '6' with the little time I have currently.

You check the oil on a six with the engine running and up to temp.
I would remove and refill.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) ,not good for 911 , that's a lot of extra oil ,you could drain some off but the best solution is to dump the lot so you can establish a true level ,should be fine to reuse that oil ,up to you.
It depends on tank used, the filler neck and dipstick, mine is factory steel tank with PMS filler neck as supplied by PO ,which I had to modify it so it worked, got there in the end.
Ben makes the best filler I have seen.
Cheers.
