I know what does not! My hands only in tight places on dry tube and hose.
I am under the tank trying to fit a hose to the SS 10mm feed line to the back of the car. The line moves while I push the hose on and it is dry, I only get a quarter inch on before it all stops. I have good cohline hose in the proper metric size.
Tight spaces and the hose and line make it challenging.
So can I add some lube? What kind won't hurt the hose.
Any tools to use? I have resisted getting pliers out so far.
Getting frustrated. Time and distance break from the project for a while.

Much easier. I should have asked before my last 2 connections, but those were the hardest, no leverage and tight quarters.
I remembered I had a cheap HF clamp that reverses into a spreader clamp, and used that to hold the SS line at the engine firewall so I could press harder on the end by the tank.
Wiring and leak test next. Oh joy.
